High School Charter Schools May Have What Parents Want

Our high school charter school in north Phoenix may have what parents are looking for. Across multiple studies of what parents want for their high school students, consistent factors emerge. Parents seek high schools with better control of the classroom environment and campus, a more positive learning environment, improved school safety, smaller class sizes, reasonable student-teacher ratings, and higher college acceptance rates. This might be a big ask given the fact that there are over 15,000 high school students in the Deer Valley Unified School District and only 5 public brick and mortar high schools.

If you live in the Deer Valley Unified School District in the north Phoenix metro area, there are five brick and mortar public high schools. Three of those schools have an average of 2,500, and two of them have over 1,500 students in attendance. Two out of the 5 received a “B” grade from the Arizona Dept. of Education. All but one of the high schools has at least a 20:1 student-teacher ratio, with two out of the five high schools having an average of 23:1 student-teacher ratio. The only one with a lower student-teacher ratio has a “B” grade from the AZ Dept. of Education.
