JPHS Music

Band is a fun and challenging class, where scholars learn classic literature and contemporary music such as: “Theme from Superman,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Selections from Nutcracker,” and Holiday music. We have a wide spectrum of music to challenge and learn new things on. Our scholars are all learning new techniques, style, and articulation that will help them expand their knowledge and ultimately make them better musicians.

Dr. Martinez is currently working with the advanced players to get them ready for Arizona All State, which JPHS hopes will occur in early 2021. The scholars are already working hard learning their scales, etudes, and breathing to represent Jefferson Prep. Let’s hope Arizona All State gets to happen this school year! #GoGuardians!

Choir is also a fun and challenging class that focuses more on popular and contemporary music. We sing Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Pentatonix music, but also manage to learn classic R&B music like “Stand By Me” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
